OMIC Increases Policyholder Count for 25th Consecutive Year

As 2012 draws to a close, OMIC will once again increase it’s net policyholder count from the previous year. One of the only carriers to continue writing new business during the market turmoil in early 1990’s and the worst ever financial collapse of the industry between 2001 to 2005, OMIC has experienced net growth in each of its 25 years in business.

Averaging 7% net growth historically, OMIC is the largest insurer of ophthalmologists among more than 45 carriers currently operating in the United States.

Six reasons OMIC is the best choice for ophthalmologists in America.

Best at defending claims.

An ophthalmologist pays nearly half a million dollars in premiums over the course of a career. Premium paid is directly related to a carrier’s claims experience. OMIC has a higher win rate taking tough cases to trial, full consent to settle (no hammer) clause, and access to the best experts. OMIC pays 25% less per claim than other carriers. As a result, OMIC has consistently maintained lower base rates than multispecialty carriers in the U.S.
