New and revised OMIC resources
OMIC is privileged to work closely with an outstanding team of ophthalmologists who serve as Board and Committee members. With their assistance, we have developed and revised some OMIC resources. The resources are listed by clinical category. Please click on the link to access the document.
Some of the consent forms were developed with financial assistance from the Bruce E. Spivey, MD, Fund for Risk Management Studies, which operates within the American Academy of Ophthalmology’s H. Dunbar Hoskins Jr., MD, Center for Quality Eye Care.
Cornea/refractive
- New: Plain-language consent form to treat OSSN and CIN. Thanks to Dr. Steve Rosenfeld.
- New: Plain-language consent form for corneal crosslinking. Thanks to Drs. Brad Fouraker, Chris Rapuano, and Steve Rosenfeld.
Comprehensive
- Revised: Checklist for giant cell arteritis. Thanks to Dr. Ron Pelton.
Retina
- New: Time-out protocol for intravitreal injections. Thanks to Drs. Pauline Merrill, Trex Topping, and George Williams.
- New: Plain-language consent form for Ozurdex. Thanks to Dr. Pauline Merrill.
- New: Plain-language consent for intravitreal injection of antimicrobial drug to treat infection. Thanks to Dr. Pauline Merrill.
- Revised: Plain-language consent forms for Avastin, Eylea, and Lucentis. They now address floaters, including silicone oil droplets, that may occur after intravitreal injections. Thanks to Drs. Pauline Merrill, Trex Topping, and George Williams.
ROP
- Revised: Plain-language consent forms for laser surgery and anti-VEGF drugs to treat ROP. Thanks to Drs. Denise Chamblee, Robert Gold, and Robert Wiggins.
Strabismus
