Implantation of Eye Jewelry is Back in the News with Several Recent Reports on the Controversial Procedure. OMIC and AAO Positions Discussed
A flood of stories about eyeball jewelry appeared in U.S. Media this week. (See links below). OMIC discourages the practice and requests that policyholders refrain from performing the procedure until more research or information can be shown to allay health and safety concerns that may make it an unacceptable insurance risk for the company. We ask that any policyholder considering performing this procedure contact their underwriter or account representative.
