Policyholder Services

Is premises coverage included?

Yes. Subject to a maximum of $50,000 per claim/$150,000 aggregate, your OMIC policy will insure you for claims arising from your ownership, maintenance, or use of the office premises you use for direct patient treatment, including the traditional “slip and fall” cases. Premises coverage does not extend to parking lots, sidewalks, elevators, escalators, stairways, or public hallways. Due to legislation prohibiting the sharing of limits, premises coverage is excluded from Kansas and Nebraska policies.

This coverage is limited in nature and doesn’t constitute or replace commercial general liability coverage or fire and property coverage. Such coverage can be obtained by purchasing a Business Owners Policy (“BOP”) offered on OMIC’s behalf through NAS Insurance Services (NAS). Contact Dana Pollard Carulli at (877) 808-6277 or dcarulli@nasinsurance.com.

Six reasons OMIC is the best choice for ophthalmologists in America.

Consistent return of premium.

Publicly-traded insurance companies exist to make profits for shareholders while physician-owned carriers often return profits to their policyholders. Don’t underestimate this benefit; it can add up to tens of thousands of dollars over the course of your career. OMIC has one of the most generous dividend programs for ophthalmologists and has returned more than $90 Million to our members through dividends.
