Policyholder Services

Does my optometrist or nurse anesthetist have to be insured?

Yes. So that you do not become financially responsible for full liability exposure arising from their actions, OMIC requires that employed optometrists and nurse anesthetists maintain professional liability insurance that covers them for services that they render. In addition, we recommend (but do not require) that they carry limits of liability equal to your limits.  Coverage may be available for your employed ODs and CRNAs under your policy, or they may secure their own coverage with another carrier.
